INTRODUCING BETTY BRIGHT

Hello my name is Betty Bright,

I love books, I love reading and I love the story of Huberta. Did you know it is a true South African story?  It happened more than 80 years ago. You are going to enjoy this journey with Huberta - it is a fascinating story.  She walked more than 1000 kilometres from St Lucia Estuary to the Keiskamma River near Peddie.

I want to tell you how very important it is to be able to read and write. When you are able to read and write (it is called literacy) you will discover a wonderful world in books. “What has literacy got to do with this story?” you may ask.

Well, in the story of Huberta’s journey you will learn what happens when you cannot read or write.

I'm actually not new to the blog if you go back you will find me and also more about the story of Huberta.  Enjoy!

Are you ready?

HUBERTA AND LITERACY

I am dwarfed in the background as these enthusiastic children are waiting to hear about Huberta.  My passion is the story of Huberta but more than the story how the story of Huberta reminds us the importance of LITERACY!!
